A Santa figure or candy container made of papier-mâché and decorated with felt, faux fur and detailed trimming reflecting the olden image of St. Nicholas:

 

The Pennsylvania Dutch Santa figure, Pelze Nichol was pronouned "pelsnickle" by Americans and eventually became belsnickle.
